Located halfway between Houston and Corpus Christi. Lake Texana State Park features a large reservoir with 125 miles of shoreline and plenty of room for all kinds of water activities. Pockets of dead timber provide excellent fish habitats, and anglers can pursue largemouth bass, crappie and catfish. More than 225 bird species have been spotted at the park, and many mammals inhabit the area.
Camping: 55 campsites with water only and 86 (back-in parking) with water and electricity. Sanitary dump station in the park.
Group Facilities: group picnic area with pavilion (capacity 75-100 people;day use only).
Picnicking: tree shaded tables and grills. 70 sites
Wildlife Watching: abundant wildlife, including white tailed deer, squirrels, rabbits, raccoons and numerous birds.
Fishing: three fishing piers (two lighted), fishing jetty, fish cleaning station.
Boating & Water Sports: boat ramps. Water skiing and jet skiing. Sailing on the main lake. Canoe rentals.
Nature Trails: several short hiking trails
Playgrounds: three areas available, one at each major use area
